Themis is very good about setting a lesson plan to meet your personal level and learning style.  She continuously adapts from one lesson to the next to make sure that you get the most out of the sessions.  She also mixes various cultural explanations into the dialogue and is able to focus on topics that are interesting to you.

Just Right for Me!

 

My husband and I decided to take the class together. He previously took classes in high school and had an idea of what to expect. I had just been introduced to the language when I began this class. I feel the instructor was a great match for us. When she observed us struggling in a particular area, she incorporated more examples in the next lessons and assigned the dreaded homework to make sure we were comfortable before moving forward. She also did a good job working with our different styles. Vincent, my husband, did better during class grasping the concept of the lesson, while my memory is better and I was able to incorporate a larger vocabulary. Together we make a great team!

 

Instructor Themis Crisostomo, made class time fun and exciting. The different activities and exercises coupled with her warm and friendly personality, made it very easy to get engaged in the lessons. There really was never a dull moment.

I always look forward to my  lessons with Themis. I am a Portuguese speaker who has always struggled to make the transition from understanding the language to speaking it. Themis structures our classes around conversations that address different parts of speech; especially areas that I find challenging. In several months of working with her, I feel so much more comfortable conversing with my inlaws--and they are all impressed at how much I've learned since meeting her.
